Hill School Relays

The Hill School girls track team made itself quite at home Saturday.

The school hosted its annual Hill Relays, which included boys and girls squads from Mercersburg Academy, Westtown School and Perkiomen School. The Hill boys and girls both came away with team championships — both against Mercersburg — by respective point margins of 66-60 (boys) and 64-46 (girls).

The Hill girls had eight winning events, six of them in the field. Their first-place finishers were Madeline Lutwyche and Violet Robertson in the pole vault relay (13-0), Rachel Schaaf and Kristine Earl in the long jump relay (31-0), Schaaf and Lutwyche in the triple jump (64-4 1/2), Hannah Cummings and Ashley Gilmore in the shot put relay (55-3 1/4), Cummings and Gilmore in the javelin (165-11)  and Paige Swartz and Schaaf in the high jump (9-6).

On the track, the Blues got firsts from their 1,600 sprint medley (4:31.18) and 4×100 shuttle hurdle (1:18.11) teams.
