Hill School Relays
The Hill School boys track team made itself quite at home Saturday.
The school hosted its annual Hill Relays, which included boys and girls squads from Mercersburg Academy, Westtown School and Perkiomen School. The Hill boys and girls both came away with team championships — both against Mercersburg — by respective point margins of 66-60 (boys) and 64-46 (girls).
The Hill boys had 10 first-place finishes, six of them in field events. Oluwatoni Adewole and Yeob Kim teamed up to win the long jump relay with a combined 38-11 1/2, and Willem Mills paired with Griffin Lehman to top the shot put relay (77-2 1/2), and with Thomas Trent for another first in the discus relay (200-1).
Austin Bates and Andrew Troy went first in the javelin relay (236-7), as did Kim and Trey Humes in the triple jump (78-6) while Jacob Fennimore was the lone contestant in the pole vault to clear the 10-foot mark.
On the track, Bates and Nathaniel Freed won the 300 meter hurdles relay in a combined 1:29.73. The Hill also had winning foursomes in the 4×200 relay (1:35.55), 1,600 sprint medley relay (3:43.17) and 4×110 shuttle hurdles (1:13.65), Morris DaQuan running legs on two of the winning teams.
Perkiomen School got individual firsts from Quinn Kasner in the shot put relay (39-7 1/2) and Kentaro Masrin in the javelin (128-11).
