DLN Girls Swimming All-Area: The 2015-16 DLN All-Area Team
First Team
Morgan Curl, Jr., Oxford
The junior capped another fine season with a third-place finish in the 500 freestyle at the PIAA Class AAA Swimming and Diving Championships at Bucknell University. She also placed fifth in the 200 free. At the District 1 Class AAA meet at La Salle University, Curl was fourth in the 200 free and and second in the 500 free.
Ann Carozza, Soph., West Chester East
The versitile sophomore was fourth in the 100 butterfly at the state meet. She was seventh in the 100 free. She came in sixth in the 100 free and the 100 butterfly at districts.
Heather MacCausland, Fr., Downingtown East
The freshman burst on the scene, finishing second to Olivia Paoletti in the 200 IM at the District 1 meet and third in the 100 breaststroke. She moved on to states and was fifth in the breaststroke and 11th in the IM.
Abby Kosic, Sr., West Chester Henderson
The senior wound up her stellar career with a third-place finish in the 200 free at the PIAA meet. That matched her third in the same event at districts. She was seventh in the 100 free at La Salle.
Emily Cornell, Sr., Villa Maria
A key cog as the Hurricanes notched their sixth straight PIAA Class AA title. She captured gold in the 200 free at states. She was second in the 100 backstroke after winning the event at the district meet. Cornell was also instrumental in Villa relays at Bucknell as she was on the 200 medley team and the 200 free team that won gold and set a state record.
Emma Brinton, Jr., Avon Grove
The junior was one of the veterans for the Red Devils. She was fifth in the 200 IM at Bucknell and played a role in the 200 free relay team that won the B final and the 400 free squad that placed fifth.
Rabea Pfaff, Fr., Avon Grove
The freshman sensation improved all season, and saved her best for last. She was third in the 100 breaststroke at Bucknell. She was also 10th in the 200 IM, and was on the two relay teams. In the district meet, Pfaff was fifth in the breaststroke.
Kaitlyn Agger, Soph., Villa Maria
The sophomore was fourth in the 100 butterfly in the PIAA meet after finishing second in the same event at the District 1 meet. She was sixth in the 500 free at Bucknell.
Maura McManus, Jr., Villa Maria
The junior placed sixth in the 100 free at states and was 10 in the 50 free. At districts, McManus was second in the 100 free and tied for third in the 50 free.
Boni Trinter, Sr., Avon Grove
The gymnast turned diver placed 21st at the state meet after placing eighth in the district meet.
