Malvern Prep’s Mike Beard was the Wrestler of the Year at 182 pounds.

First Team

106 – Shane Hanson-Ashworth, Fr., Malvern Prep

Rolled his way to a prep state championship and runner-up at prep nationals, while finishing with a 45-8 record.

113 – James Strommer, Sr., Downingtown East

Won a district title and earned his first trip to states. Finished with a 35-12 record and 101 career wins as a three-year starter.

120- Brandon Sheffield, Fr., Oxford

Was a win away from states, finishing fifth in the region. Also won a district title and won 36 of 42 bouts.

126 – Wade Cummings, Sr., Downingtown East

Placed fifth in PIAA for his second state medal. Won league, district and regional golds, going 47-4 this season, and 181-14 for his career.

132 – Kyle Medrow, Sr., West Chester Henderson

Finished fifth in the region, a win shy of Hershey. Won league and district titles, winning 30 of 40 matches. Was 123-37 for his career.

138 – Nik Zimmerman, Sr., Downingtown East

Became a big scorer for the Cougars, with 26 of 38 wins going for bonus. Won leagues and made regionals, finishing with 88 career wins.

145 – Kevin Edwards, Jr., Avon Grove

The Cinderella story of the state tourney, went from fifth-place alternate to sixth-place state medalist, highest 3A medal in school history. Was 34-10.

152 – Chase Stephens, Jr., Coatesville

Won leagues and districts on his way to runner-up finish at regionals and seventh-place medal at states. Went 40-4.

160 – Matt Lattanze, Sr., Malvern Prep

Took third at prep nationals for his highest finish, earning All-American status for fourth time. Runner-up at states and 26-4 this season.

170 – Cole Zapf, Jr., Downingtown West

Earned titles at leagues and districts and took fourth at regionals to ink first trip to states. Won 36 of 45 bouts.

182 – Costas Hatzipavlides, Sr., West Chester Henderson

Returned to Hershey for a second time and was a win away from a medal. Won leagues and districts, going 39-8, and finishing 111-44 for career.

195 – Rashon Lusane, Sr., Malvern Prep

Placed second at prep states and third at prep nationals, while going 46-8 this year and ending his career with 159 wins.

220 – Seth Janney, Jr., Malvern Prep

Was a pin machine for the Friars, winning prep state and national titles along the way after placing 2nd in PIAA as sophomore. Was 47-6.

285 – Vince Walls, Sr., Avon Grove

Dominated his way to league and district titles before taking third at regionals and qualifying for first state tournament. Was 37-5.
