Hill ice hockey tops La Salle to hoist MAHL championship
The Hill School boys ice hockey team made an early lead stand up as they edged LaSalle College High Wednesday, 2-1 to win the MAHL Championship at Hatfield Ice.
The Blues had a 2-0 lead after two periods, the second goal by Brandon Picard doubling their 1-0 first-period advantage.
Jake Cerullo chipped in with stout goaltending for the Hill, handling 14 LaSalle shots through the first two frames. LaSalle got its lone goal with 15 minutes left in the third.
The Hill’s next action will be hosting Hun School Saturday, in the Mid-Atlantic Invitational Tournament.
