Ceroli’s three points help Marple Newtown skate to tie
Gabe Ceroli collected three points, and Ian Malarick, Matthew Merrone and Antony Petrone added two each to help Marple Newtown to a 5-5 Central Division tie with Lower Merion.
Ceroli scored two goals and handed out one assist. Ian Malarick scored twice, and Merrone and Patrone added two assists each.
Everhett Grimes converted a pass from Corey Frairman with 1:01 left in the third quarter to tie the game for Lower Merion. Both goalies were outstanding. Drew Moore stopped 39 of 44 shots for Marple Newtown. Justin Greenspan stopped 35 of 40 shots for Lower Merion.
In the PCL Blue:
Father Judge 8, Cardinal O’Hara 4 >> The Crusaders used four goals in the first period to get an early lead and never looked back. Zachary Vendetti led the way with two goals and one assist.
Justin Boornazian and Nick Donato had one goal and one assist each for O’Hara, which put 44 shots on goal. Liam McCanney chipped in with two assists.
In the Independent League:
Episcopal Academy 6, Germantown Academy 6 >>Bobby Gibson sparked the EA offense with three goals and two assists. Brandon Kopen added two goals and Nick D’Alicandro one for the Churchmen.
Girls Hockey
Abby Shows, Emilie Kennedy, Maddison Humes and Rachel Craig all had big games as Garnet Valley rolled over Lansdale Catholic, 12-2.
Shows had six points with three goals and three assists. Humes (three goals, one assist) and Emilie Kennedy (two goals, two assists) both finished with four points. Craig collected three points on two goals and one assist.
