Bonner & Prendie’s Clemons beats the buzzer in OT win

Princess Clemons provided Bonner & Prendergast with a memorable send-off in Tuesday night’s Catholic League home game against Lansdale Catholic.

Clemons’ short-range basket with one second to go on the overtime clock lifted the Pandas to a 54-52 victory.

Moments earlier, Maggie McPeak gave the Pandas (13-5) a brief lead before LC tied things up with 11 seconds to play. That set the stage for Clemons, who finished with 10 points.

Maeve McCann scored all of her 14 points after halftime and Caroline Manfre chipped in 12 points, five steals and five rebounds.

In the Del Val League:

Academy Park 54, Chichester 18 >> The Knights (9-8) pumped in nine 3-pointers, including six from senior guard Raven-Monet Kemper, who scored a game-high 17 points. Elisha Hernandez and Shantalay Hightower both contributed 12 points for the Knights, who led at halftime, 30-7.

Lauren Carrafa had a team-high eight points for Chi.

In the Central League:

Springfield 38, Ridley 30 >> By process of elimination, it’s no surprise that Jordan D’Ambrosio had a game-high 15 points and eight rebounds for the Cougars. She was one of four D’Ambrosio players in Tuesday’s game. Her sister, Madison, added eight points in the Cougars’ win.

Ridley’s D’Ambrosio sisters, Dana and Gina, combined for only five points.

There is no relation between the Springfield D’Ambrosios and Ridley D’Ambrosios.

Izzy Hamlin paced her team with eight points, but the Green Raiders (7-11) fell short in their bid to upset the Cougars (13-4, 10-3).

Radnor 42, Haverford 28 >> The Raiders were carried by senior forward Kristin Hamill, who scored 20 points. Annalena O’Reilly had nine points for Haverford.

Strath Haven 54, Lower Merion 41 >> The Panthers were buoyed on the road by seniors Katie Fisher (17 points) and Rachel Vresilovic (14). They jumped out to a 16-5 in the first quarter and never looked back.

Wrestling

Igor Lupisella was named Most Valuable Wrestler to lead New Hope-Solebury to the team title at the Delco Invitational Tuesday.

The Lions had four individual champions and six wrestlers finish second.

Episcopal Academy finished fourth in the team scoring and had three individual champions: Blair Orr (106), Kosta Maritsis (113) and Dallas Taylor (285). Sam Stickley took second at 138 for the Churchmen, while James Silvi was third at 120.

Abe Charles won at 145 to lead Penn Wood. Teammate Dan Dumas (195) was second, while Sumana Kromah (152) and Marcus Brogsdale (160) both placed third.

Jake Gutowski (182) claimed the only individual title for the host Knights. Caleb Madison placed third at 170.

Boys Squash

Playing in his final match of the season, Jimmy Tricolli earned a win at the No. 9 position to lead The Haverford School to a 9-0 triumph over Harriton/Lower Merion in the first round of the Mid-Atlantic Squash Association Tournament.

The Fords dropped one game in the match. Duncan Joyce, Will Means, Peter Miller, Justin Shah, Grant Sterman, Will Glaser and Sam Turner all won 3-0 to send Haverford School into a second-round match against the winner of the Lawrenceville Shipley match.
