Radnor girls showcase freshman class
Monday was a chance for Radnor’s girls swim team to showcase its youth.
Freshmen Zoe Metzger, Sarah Goncher, Christine Lu and Cameron Kelly each won individual events as the Raiders topped Harriton, 98-80.
Goncher won the 100 freestyle, then anchored the winning 200 free relay. Metzger was quickest in the 100 butterfly, Lu was best in the 500 free and Kelly claimed the victory in the 50 for Radnor.
Mae Yeakel added a win in the 200 individual medley, while Maia Hall was tops in diving for Radnor (5-1, 5-1 Central League).
Also in the Central League:
Conestoga 99, Strath Haven 87 >> Frances Resweber won the 200 and 500 free decisively, but Conestoga’s superior depth helped it grind out a victory.
Camille Jablonski won the 200 IM, and Liz Olszewski nudged Jablonski for the 100 breast title. PhilAnn Dixon won diving for Haven with a score of 230.05. Conestoga’s Madison Ledwith outdueled Summer Martin in the sprints, winning the 50 and 100 free in hotly-contested races.
