Friends’ Central senior DeAndre Hunter nominated for McDonald’s All-American
Friends’ Central School senior DeAndre Hunter is one of the 755 high school seniors who have been nominated to play in the 2016 McDonald’s All American Games. This year’s list includes players from 49 states and the District of Columbia who have been selected by high school coaches, athletic directors, principals and members of the McDonald’s All American Games Selection Committee. Two players hail from Montgomery County – Hunter and Perkiomen Valley’s Katie Armstong.
Hunter became the 10th Friends’ Central player to be nominated to play in the McDonald’s All American game. He joins FCS alums Hakim Warrick (Class of 2001), Mike Cook ‘02, Mustafa Shakur ‘03, Talia East ‘10, Travis Robinson ‘10, Devin Coleman ‘10, Dominic Morris ‘10, Monaye Merritt ‘11 and Amile Jefferson ‘12. Of these 10, Mustafa Shakur ‘03 and Amile Jefferson ‘12 were selected to play in the McDonald’s All American game.

The 39th Annual Boys Game will tip-off March 30, at 9 p.m. EST from Chicago’s United Center and will be broadcast on ESPN. Net proceeds from the Games benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC®). The Games have raised more than $11 million for RMHC since their inception in 1978.
