Hall, Cook, Rantin strike gold at TFCAGP Meet
Springfield’s Ache Hall, Radnor’s Peter Cook and Keon Rantin of Glen Mills came home with gold medals in the Division II portion of the Track & Field Coaches Association meet at Lehigh University Saturday.
Hall won the triple jump (41-0). Cook took first in the 400 (52.99) and Rantin captured the 60 (7.29). Shaunell Burnside of Glen Mills was second to Cook in the 400. The Bulls also were first in the 4 x 200-meter relay.
Haverford School also had a strong day. Sam Linder was second in the 60 hurdles. Teammate Charlie Scales took second in the 800. Nick Magnani was fifth in the 3,000. Andy Leight was fifth in the mile and the Fords placed second in the 4 x 400.
All-Delco Sean Sullivan of Bonner & Prendergast was second in the mile. Mike Chamberlain of Interboro placed third in the pole vault, while Dustin Sacchetti of Cardinal O’Hara was fourth. Alex Escobar of Radnor placed third in the long jump.
In the relays, Springfield was second in the 4 x 400 and third in the 4 x 200. Cardinal O’Hara took second in the DMR.
Meanwhile, Chester and Upper Darby had a good day in the Division I meet.
All-Delco Braheem Bishop won the high jump with a personal best leap of 6-3. That also qualified Bishop for the state championship. The Clippers also were third in the 4 x 400 relay with a Meet of Champions qualifying time of 3:39.16.
Upper Darby’s Gianni Lawrence was second in the 400 with an MOC qualifying time of 52.21. Teammate Mason Weh was fourth in the 200. The Royals were fifth in the DMR (11:16.25).
