Academy Park goes deep to down O’Hara
Academy Park drained a dozen 3-pointers and held Cardinal O’Hara to 13 second-half points Wednesday night en route to a 60-41 win in nonleague boys basketball.
Nassan Garrison pumped in four 3s and led all AP players with 14 points. Jawan Collins added 12 points and Nakim Stokes chipped in 10.
Jaye’Lyn Peebles poured in a game-high 20 points and Zakee Griffin finished with nine in the loss for the Lions.
In other nonleague action:
Garnet Valley 72, Interboro 50 >> Andrew Louden scored 25 points and Austin Laughlin tossed in 13 as the Jaguars kept the host Bucs (0-5) winless on the season.
GV controlled the tempo early as it outscored Interboro, 16-5, in the opening period and never looked back. Brandon Starr contributed 10 points for the Jags, who went 23-of-31 from the free throw line.
Brandon Conlin netted a team-high 13 points for the Bucs.
Upper Merion 63, Sun Valley 40 >> The Vanguards couldn’t recover after being outscored by 15 points (23-8) in the second period.
Kyle Ryan was Sun Valley’s top scorer with 13 points, while Ryan Hall checked in with eight.
