Louden pours in 22 as Garnet Valley cruises to victory
Andrew Louden authored a memorable start to his season Tuesday night.
The Garnet Valley guard flirted with a triple-double, pouring in 22 points (including four 3-pointers), 10 rebounds and seven assists as the Jaguars scored a 75-40 win over Marple Newtown in the Central League opener for both teams.
Carl Tienabeso led all scorers with 23 points, and Austin Laughlin added 13 for the Jags.
Marcus Weathers led Marple (1-2, 0-1) with 16 points.
Also in the Central League:
Lower Merion 62, Penncrest 61 >> AJ Taylor came up big down the stretch to push the game into three overtimes with his 28 points and 13 rebounds, but the Lions came up just short.
Tyler Norwood added 13 points, five assists and four steals for the Lions (2-1, 0-1).
Upper Darby 51, Radnor 44 >> Kahleel Henry scored a game-high 17 points thanks to canning four triples, and Nazir Jordan was steady at the line down the stretch on the way to 14 points as Upper Darby (1-2, 1-0) held on to an early lead.
Ridley 47, Strath Haven 42 >> Julian Wing scored a game-high 16 points, and Ryan Bollinger added 11 points as the Green Raiders (2-0, 1-0) amassed a 17-point lead after three quarters and hung on to the win.
John Harrar led Haven with 13 points, and Jahmeir Springfield added 10.
Harriton 44, Haverford 40 >> Connor Guilfoil scored nine points, and Jack Donaghy made his season debut with eight points, but the Fords (0-2, 0-1) fell just short.
Conestoga 66, Springfield 55 >> Kyle Long hit three 3-pointers to finish with 14 points, and Kyle Sullivan added 11 points for the Cougars (2-1, 0-1)
Darryl Caldwell led all scorers with 21 points for ’Stoga.
In nonleague action:
Bonner-Prendergast 71, Interboro 36 >> Christian Lane scored a game-high 14 points, and Mike Perretta’s 11 points pushed him into double-figures for the Friars (2-0).
Mike Mercanti added 11 points and five rebounds for Bonner-Prendie.
Brandon Conlin led the way for Interboro (0-3) with 13 points.
Harry S. Truman 73, Chichester 63 >> Eric Montanez (24 points, seven steals) and Jamai Womack (22 points, nine rebounds) each approached double-doubles, but the Eagles (1-2) couldn’t keep pace.
DaQuan Granberry added 12 points for Chichester.
