Neff gets hat trick, Academy of Notre Dame defeats Carroll

The Academy of Notre Dame field hockey team defeated Archbishop Carroll, 7-2, in its season opener Tuesday. In the second half, the Irish scored all seven of their goals, and Mary Kate Neff recorded her hat trick in a space of eight minutes. Other Notre Dame goals were scored by Sarah Boles, Ava Leonhardt, Cami Osborne and Quinn Maguire. Assists were dished out for the Irish by Tina D’Anjollel, Ava Leonhardt and Quinn Maguire. Carroll goals were scored by Katy Curry and Gabby Sutter. Notre Dame goalie Erin Boyle recorded two saves.
