Baldwin School defeats Lower Merion in season opener
The Baldwin School opened its 2015 season at home with a 6-1 win against Lower Merion Tuesday. Junior Emma Sass led the Bears at first singles, defeating Simone Burde, 6-2, 6-4. At second singles, Baldwin sophomore Lauren Wang dropped a hard fought 4-6, 7-6(7) (13-11) match to Neve Brennan. At third singles, Baldwin senior Isabel Senior defeated Kloe Rosenberg 6-4, 7-5.
Baldwin swept the doubles with junior Ari Hairston and senior Julia Greitzer leading the way with a 6-3 6-4 win against Allie Rauch and Chloe Spergel at first doubles. Baldwin junior Alexa Bartels and senior Davis Madeja won 3-6 6-4 6-4 at second doubles against Haley Kofsky and Sarah Lipson. At third doubles, senior Quinn Funston and junior Dagney Tepper won 6-2 2-6 7-4 against Sarah Beller-Grossman and Jenna Mancusoat. At fourth doubles, freshman Alexis Shatzman and junior Madeline Marr won 6-0 6-0 against Lexi Ginsberg and Aasha Gupta.
