Gloucester Christian knocks off TCA in semifinals
An early four-run lead was not enough to get The Christian Academy baseball team into the Tri-State Christian Conference championship game.
Gloucester Christian rallied for an 8-5 victory over the Crusaders in the semifinals Tuesday. TCA will play for third place Saturday at Cairn University.
TCA jumped out to a 4-0 lead behind the hitting of Jake Sitkowski and Brit Haseltine. Sitkowski went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs. Haseltine was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and one RBI.
However, two-out errors in the bottom of the second and third innings by TCA allowed Gloucester to take a 6-4 lead. The Cougars put the game away with two more runs in the bottom of the fifth inning.
