Haverford School sweeps to Inter-Ac League title

The Haverford School wrapped up its sixth straight Inter-Ac League tennis title in short order, sweeping Penn Charter, 7-0, in straight sets Friday.

Ben Lieb and Will McDevitt both took 6-0, 6-2 victories at the first and second singles, respectively, while Nathan Kidambi and Andrew Gushner combined to take a top-flight doubles victory, 6-4, 6-0. John Walsh added a win a third singles.

In the PIAA Tournament:

Abington Heights 3, Radnor 2: Although Will Frigerio and Josh Taylor managed respective singles victories at first and second singles, respectively, Radnor’s magical playoff run came to an end in the quarterfinal round of the PIAA Class AAA team tournament at the Hershey Racquet Club.

Frigerio rolled to a 6-1, 6-0 win, while Taylor had to go three sets to pull out a 6-2, 3-6 and 6-2 victory for the Raiders, who finished the season at 17-7 in team play.
