Bonner-Prendergast falls to Wood in quarterfinals
A three-run, seventh-inning rally was not enough to keep Bonner-Prendergast’s season alive, as the Friars fell, 5-4, to Archbishop Wood in Saturday’s Catholic League baseball quarterfinals.
Paul Curran went 2-for-3 for B-P, which picked up four of its seven hits in the final frame.
The Friars (13-8) advanced to the quarterfinal by getting past Lansdale Catholic, 3-1, in the morning play-in game.
Nick Bralczyk scattered four hits and three walks and did not allow an earned run over six innings to earn the win, with Evan Raiburn coming on to nail down the save.
Bonner-Prendergast did all of its damage at the plate in the second inning, when Billy Myers stroked a two-run single and Nick Lazer (3-for-3) knocked in the other run.
