Smith, Aitken send Haverford School into Challenge final
The Haverford School showed why its the No. 1-ranked boys lacrosse program in the country.
The Fords jumped out to a five-goal lead in the first quarter and never looked back to earn a spot in the Inter-Ac Challenge championship game with a 13-8 victory over fourth-seeded Malvern Prep Friday.
The top-seeded Fords take on second-seeded Hun School for the title at PPL Park in Chester. The second-seeded Raiders knocked off No. 3 Episcopal Academy, 9-5, to advance to the final.
Forry Smith and Dox Aitken paced The Haverford School with four goals each. Grant Ament added two goals and four assists. Phil Pogue chipped in with two goals while goalie Alex DeMarco stopped 11 shots.
