Reimers twins team up for Del Val doubles title
The brotherly team of John and Adrian Reimers cruised through the competition Wednesday, with the Chichester doubles team eventually beating Duwaine Jenkins and Dayquan Harrison of Academy Park in the final to win the Del Val League doubles championship at Chester Park.
The Reimers duo took down eventual third-place finishers Tamir Laws and Jay-B Jallah of Penn Wood (6-1, 6-1) in the quarterfinals and Kevin Portalatin and Dylan Flegal of Glen Mills (6-0, 6-0) in the semifinals before beating the Knights pair of Jenkins-Harrison 7-6 (11-9) and 6-2 in the title match.
Both those doubles teams in the final, however, do advance to the District One doubles next Friday at Springfield Healthplex.
The Reimers had to overcome what had been a 4-1 first-set lead by Jenkins and Harrison before winning a tiebreaker. With the win, Adrian Reimers secured gold in both singles (his brother was second) and doubles.
