Lovelace does it all in victory for Garnet Valley
In line for a win that on this day would be long in coming, Garnet Valley pitcher Morgan Lovelace decided to nail it down herself.
Lovelace’s RBI double in the top of the eighth inning would go down as the game-winning hit, and she then scored an insurance run on Morgan Morrisroe’s single. Lovelace then protected that lead on the mound in the bottom of the eighth inning as she enabled the Garnet Valley softball team to escape with an 8-6 victory over Haverford in a Central League game Wednesday.
Lovelace had two hits and two runs scored, while Morrisroe and Sam Tomasetti each had three hits and an RBI. Reva Alderman drove in two runs in the sixth inning for the Jags (8-3 Central League and overall), who at one point were down 6-0 in the game.
