Viscusi shines for Episcopal Academy in the Sunshine State
Reigning All-Delco Softball Player of the year Alex Viscusi missed out on hitting for the cycle in Orlando Monday.
That’s because she didn’t have an inclination to merely stop at first base on any of her five hits in Episcopal Academy’s Game 2 win of a doubleheader sweep of National Cathedral of Washington D.C.
Viscusi went 5-for-5 with a home run, a triple and three doubles in a 15-2 win in Game 2. That came after the Princeton-bound senior twirled a four-hit shutout in a 10-0 victory in the opener.
It was a banner day for the Churchwomen’s batteries, as catcher Brooke Royer went 2-for-2 with three runs scored in the opener, and 3-for-5 with a triple and four RBIs in the nightcap. Taylor Long got the win on the hill for EA in the second game after smacking a double in the first game.
Episcopal, which is 4-0 on its trip to Disney World of Sports, plays two more games Tuesday against teams from California and New Jersey.
