Berks Catholic beats Gettysburg for fifth place in District 3 Class AAA

BERKS CATHOLIC 41, GETTYSBURG 34>> Berks Catholic beat Gettysburg to take the fifth place spot in the District 3 Class AAA boys’ basketball tournament on Thursday.

After a close first half, Berks Catholic pulled away with a 30-20 second half. The margin could have been even bigger. Berks Catholic took 30 foul shots — 18 of those in the final quarter — and finished 16-of-30. Gettysburg went 6-of-9.

Isaac Lutz led Berks Catholic with 12 points and went 6-of-7 from the foul line. Tyrone Nesby added 11 points.

Gettysburg’s Marquise Camel led his team with nine points, scoring one 3-pointer.

Both teams advance to the PIAA tournament.
