Gabby Stick to play volleyball at Lock Haven University
Exeter senior Gabby Stick has been a big part of the success the high school girls volleyball team has enjoyed over the past few years. Next fall she will becoming a part f the Lock Haven University women’s volleyball team. She hopes she will be big part of that team’s success over the next four years.
Last week she signed her Letter-of-Intent to play for Lock Haven. She will major in health science where she will concentrate in pre-physical therapy.
“I contacted the school a year ago and eventually had a chance to visit the campus,’ said Stick. “I loved it immediately. I met the coaching staff and they were great. The coach said he wanted me to be a part of the team and I realized I wanted to be a part of the team.
She will join a team that went 20-11 overall and 14-8 in the conference last fall. They made it to the quarterfinal round of the PSAC playoffs, where they lost to Shippensburg.
“I’m a little nervous, but I’m also excited to play at that level,’ said Stick. “I’ll be playing with and against everyone who has more experience than I will have at that level. I’m looking forward to it.’
Gabby said she will miss her teammates, some of whom she has played with since seventh grade.
“I like how team-oriented everyone is at Exeter,’ she said. “We’re all very close and it will be tough playing without them next year.’
