Christopher Dock uses big 2nd half to beat Delco Christian, claim 4th straight District 1-A title
WARMINSTER — In the first half, it seemed like just a matter of time until Christopher Dock’s relentless pressure would net the game’s first score.
In the second half, it was a question of just how many goals the Pioneers would put in.
Dock dominated Wednesday night in the District One Class A Final, racing away to a 5-0 victory over Delco Christian at rainy William Tennent High School. “It’s four years in a row now. I came here my sophomore year and for everyone that was here as a freshman, with all of the seniors that we have, they’re so excited,’ said one of those seven seniors for Dock, Bailey Kratz. “So it’s another road to states and we’re hoping to go far.’
Dock’s fourth straight district crown sends the Pioneers back to states, where they’ll try to duplicate the kind of offensive firepower they displayed on Wednesday night.
The game was scoreless at the break, but less than 10 minutes into the second half, Olivia Seavy got to a corner that sailed into the box, drilling it off a Delco defender and into the net for a 1-0 Dock lead.
And then, Dock’s speed simply became too much for Delco to contain.
Mattasyn Shisler split the defense and blasted a high shot over the outstretched arms of Delco keeper Ronnie Marie Falasco, giving the Pioneers some breathing room, up 2-0 with 12:27 left to play.
