Paradis’ first goal of season lifts Agnes Irwin
Nicole Paradis made her first goal of the season count, as the senior captain drove home a pass from Hannah Keating with less than 3 minutes to go in regulation to lift the Agnes Irwin girls soccer team over host Baldwin, 3-2, in an Inter-Ac League match Friday.
Maria Pansini cashed in a feed from Annie McConnon for an early lead and Kate White hammered home her first goal of the season late in the opening half for the Owls (8-2 overall, 6-1 league), who retained a share of first place with Germantown Academy.
In nonleague action:
Strath Haven 2, Central Bucks South 1: Maddie Forbes’ second goal of the match, in the 82nd minute, enabled the Panthers (12-3-2) and goalie Katie Fisher (nine saves) to pull out the win.
Ridley 2, Delco Christian 1: Jenna Catania rocketed home a direct free kick from 25 yards out for the game winner a little over 3 minutes into overtime. Lisa Gale stopped seven shots for the Green Raiders, who got on the board in the first half when Abby Graeff set up Rachel Smith. Julia Kyne scored for the Knights.
In the Tri-State Christian Conference:
Pilgrim Christian 3, Christian Academy 1: Madison Dutton turned aside seven shots, but the Crusaders couldn’t muster any offensive support other than Carli Sitkowski’s unassisted goal late in regulation.
