Ketter delivers to give Academy Park share of title
Treasure Ketter delivered a dozen kills and served three aces as Academy Park earned a share of the Del Val League regular-season title with a 3-2 marathon win over Chichester Tuesday.
Dejah Olive added nine kills and Mariah Waller contributed five kills and four aces in a balanced effort by the Knights, who finished with a 9-3 record to share the title with Chichester and Interboro.
Maddie Thornton (16 kills, 35 digs), Becca Civera (16 kills, 24 digs) and Melissa Ferrara (33 assists) led Chichester, which held a 2-1 lead before Academy Park regrouped to prevail 25-21, 24-26, 18-25, 25-17, 15-10.
In another Del Val League match:
Chester 3, Penn Wood 2: Yamilette Garcia and Shayiah Cottman combined for 14 kills and Keyajah Dawson-Hunter chipped in five aces and a pair of blocks to lead the Clippers to a 25-20, 19-25, 17-25, 25-19, 15-7 come-from-behind win.
In the Catholic League:
Bonner-Prendergast 3, Archbishop Ryan 1: Jackie McCarrick was sparkling on defense with 44 digs, Amber Ballinger posted a double-double with 14 kills and 24 digs, and Megan Cummings served four aces to go with her 30 assists to power the Pandas (9-6, 6-4) to the 20-25, 25-17, 25-16, 25-13 comeback win.
In nonleague action:
Sun Valley 3, Harriton 0: Madison McCunney served seven aces and put away 17 kills, Emily Storkarski dished out 21 assists and Halee Kusner landed five aces to send the Vanguards (5-11) to a 25-13, 25-16, 25-8 rout.
