O’Hara gets healthy in time to top Radnor
Getting healthy seemed to suit Cardinal O’Hara Monday.
Both back from a two-week absence, Gabby Napoleon and Meghan MacWilliams both played key roles in a 3-0 nonleague sweep of Radnor.
Napoleon provided eight kills on just 10 attacking swings, and MacWilliams paired three aces with 21 assists for the Lions (14-3), who prevailed by game scores of 25-11, 25-14 and 25-14. Napoleon and MacWilliams returned on the same day after being injured just minutes apart at a practice session two weeks ago.
Breanna Hickey chipped in 14 digs and two aces for the Lions.
In other nonleague action:
Strath Haven 3, Central Bucks East 1: Brianna Fisher compiled a double-double with 12 digs and 12 kills to lead the Panthers by game scores of 26-20, 25-21, 20-25 and 25-16.
Rachel Vresilovic came up with 12 digs and eight blocks, and Casey Blum contributed 10 kills for the Panthers (17-2).
Pope John Paul II 3, Garnet Valley 1: Kiley Price put away eight kills to go with three blocks, and Jenna Hostetler recovered 22 digs for the Jags, who won the first game 25-21 before dropping games of 25-20, 25-16 and 25-18.
Maria Nicolaides chipped in five kills and three blocks, and Kelly Sarbaugh tucked away six aces for the Jags (13-2).
Ridley 3, Sun Valley 1: Melanie Malseed dominated affairs, collecting 18 kills and 18 digs for the Green Raiders, who won 26-24, 25-15, 26-28, 25-22.
Riley McSorley accumulated 11 digs, and Erin Scanlan did a little of everything with two blocks, three assists and four aces for Ridley (9-7).
Avon Grove 3, Marple Newtown 0: Sarah Roberts finished off 10 kills, and Carley Hamilton chipped in eight for the Tigers.
In the Del Val League:
Academy Park 3, Penn Wood 0: Trea’Sure Ketter notched 13 kills, and Aleshia Tetty paired four aces with 21 assists as the Knights (6-10, 6-3) rolled, 25-11, 25-12, 25-14.
Chichester 3, Interboro 1: Beccca Civera lit up the stat sheet with 10 aces, 10 digs and seven kills to lead the Eagles, 25-18, 25-19, 24-26 and 25-18.
Maddie Thronton paired 10 digs with four aces and five kills, and Melissa Ferrara dished out 10 assists to go with four aces and five digs for Chichester.
