Thompson’s goal chalks one up for Delco Christian
Delco Christian had to fight for a 2-1 Bicentennial League victory over Plumstead Christian Wednesday.
Kieran Thompson put home a penalty corner in the second half, off a pass from Emma Ellsworth, to win it. Siani McNeil’s reverse sweep goal in the first half helped the Knights (4-6, 3-4) go into the break even. Goalie Jamie Madison recorded two saves for the win.
In the Catholic League
Jess Randazzo and Makayla Gallen showed the way as Cardinal O’Hara rolled over Archbishop Ryan, 10-0, to remain undefeated in the Catholic League.
Randazzo scored two goals and assisted on three other scores. Gallen added two goals and two assists. Hannah Nihill led the attack with four goals, while Sara Hayes chipped in with two scores for the Lions (8-2, 4-0). The defense did not allow a shot on goal.
In other Catholic League action:
Bonner-Prendergast 5, Conwell-Egan 0: Riley Dolan collected one goal and two assists, and the Pandas (8-2, 4-1) scored four times in the second half to break the game open. Jess Campbell paced the offense with two goals. Maryanne Young dished out two assists and goalie Maggie Baldini stopped three shots for the shutout.
In nonleague play:
Penncrest 7, Academy Park 1: Allison D’Ignazio scored on a penalty stroke and assisted on two other goals for the Lions (3-9, 1-6 Central League. Alissa Pastino led the offense with three goals, while Annalise McLarnon chipped in with two scores.
Dakota Street had the lone goal for the Knights off a corner from Kayla Payne.
