Nihill sparks big uprising by O’Hara
Cardinal O’Hara didn’t waste any time Wednesday afternoon.
The Lions scored five goals in the first five minutes of the first half on the way to a 10-0 shellacking of Lansdale Catholic.
Hannah Nihill registered a hat trick and Makayla Gallen had four assists to go with her one goal. Bridget Egan added a pair of tallies for the Lions (5-2, 3-0).
In other Catholic League action:
Archbishop Carroll 7, Conwell-Egan 0: Sam Swart netted a hat trick and Keara McNulty, Alyssa Lemons, Hannah Bateman and Brooke McCabe each found the back of the net for the Patriots (4-2).
Bonner-Prendergast 6, Archbishop Wood 2: Two-time basketball All-Delco Alyssa Monaghan is good at sports. She notched a hat trick while Riley Dolan contributed two goals and two helpers for the Pandas (6-1, 3-0), who got a 10-save effort out of goalie Maggie Baldini.
In a nonleague game:
Notre Dame 3, Hill School 3: The Irish’s Quinn Maguire ran the length of the field to score with two seconds to play in regulation and force overtime. Taylor Leonhardt (assist) and Amanda Odgers tallied the other goals for Notre Dame (2-2-1).
