Colflesh, Polo lead Ridley’s doubles sweep

Kelly Colflesh and Ria Polo paced a clean sweep of the doubles competition to help Ridley (3-5, 3-4) reach the three-win mark for the first time in a long time with a 5-2 triumph over Springfield in a Central League tennis match Tuesday. Colflesh and Polo needed three sets for a win at first doubles.

Elsewhere in the Central League:

Penncrest 6, Upper Darby 1: Jade Phillips and Emily Evenden did not lose a game at first and third singles, respectively, to pace the Lions.

Radnor 6, Strath Haven 1: Camille Emaelsteen and Med Reid, and Amber Song and Quinn Flannery needed three sets each to win at first and second doubles, respectively, for the Raiders. Emma Lee was a 6-1, 6-3 winner at third single for Strath Haven.

Garnet Valley 7, Marple Newtown 0: Marina Zhang set the tone with a 6-0, 6-3 victory over Rylee Power at first singles. The Jaguars won all seven matches in straight sets and dropped just three games in the doubles.

In the Del Val League:

Academy Park 5, Chichester 0: Lattana Sithara won her sixth straight match at first singles and a victory by Jasmine Hightower and Vicky Cannon at second double clinched the victory that put the Knights in sole possession of first place.

Chester 4, Penn Wood 1: Lasheeda Jones, Jamie McDowell and Deray Jones led a clean sweep of the singles for Chester (2-3 league).

In the Catholic League:

Cardinal O’Hara 5, John W. Hallahan 0: Gabriella Levy and Caitlin Savage remained undefeated at second and third singles for the Lions (6-4, 4-0).

In the Penn-Jersey League:

Barrack Hebrew 4, Delaware Valley 1: Singles wins from Talia Raiken, Dori Hoffman-Filler and Debbie Spivak helped the Cougars get back on the winning track.

In the Bicentennial League:

Delco Christian 6, Christopher Dock 1: Ellie Schmucher, Mei Li and Ciara Mullen swept the singles in straight sets to lead the Knights (5-2, 3-2).
