Schreiber leads Ridley in sweep

Samantha Schreiber collected 14 digs, 10 kills and two blocks as the Ridley volleyball team defeated Upper Darby, 3-0, for its first win of the season Friday.

Molly Murtha added seven kills and Amy Staiber contributed five kills and three aces for the Green Raiders (1-0, 1-0 Central League). Ezie Shanefield (seven kills, three blocks) and Shakenna Walls (eight kills, two blocks) had solid games for the Royals.

Garnet Valley 3, Radnor 0: Sekai Kaminski and Brianna Plush led the Jaguars with six kills each. Sydeny Portale added five kills. Elise Cummings had 20 assists and Kelly Sarabaugh served up four aces.

Cassie Maz had two aces for the Raiders. Michaela Parrish and Brianna Ellis played well at the net for Radnor, while setter Katelin Dao directed the offense.

Penncrest 3, Harriton 0: Diana Balta led the way with nine kills. Gianna Garbiule dished out 15 assists. Nicky Gargiule and Emily Hopkins pounded seven kills each.

Strath Haven 3, Springfield 0: The Panthers won 25-14, 25-11 and 25-17. No other details reported.

Haverford 3, Marple Newtown 2: The Fords bounced with three straight wins to knock off the Tigers. No other details were reported.
