Ridley’s victory is 100th for Nevin
Ridley gtirls soccer coach Ron Nevin hit the 100-win mark in his 16th season, as Lexi Rainer’s two goals paced a balanced attack and Lisa Gale was perfect in net, stopping all three shots, to key the Green Raiders’ 7-0 domination of Central League rival Upper Darby Thursday.
Sarah Lynch, Jenna Catania, Vicky Zielke, Liz Stretton and Abby Graeff rounded out the scoring. Upper Darby keeper Ashley Gura stopped a dozen shots.
In other Central League matches:
Penncrest 2, Harriton 1: Cassidy Moretti and Tara Higgins supplied the scoring and Kayla Allen shut down the Rams in the second half with defensive help from Katie Arbogast, Mariah Kozub, Sara Roberts and Merry Samuel.
Radnor 2, Garnet Valley 1: Maura Holst converted a penalty kick and scored off a pass from Abby Lord, and Lord saved an almost certain goal late to preserve the win for the Raiders. Jordan Ireland put the Jaguars on the board in the second half.
In the Ches-Mont League:
Oxford 3, Sun Valley 0: Staci Curry was outstanding in net with 13 saves for the Vanguards, who also received solid midfield play from Carson Adelberger.
In nonleague action:
Chichester 5, Phil-Mont Christian 0: Megan Carroll netted a hat trick, Monigo Karnley assisted on a pair of scores and Theresa Mignogna turned aside four shots for the shutout.
