Spring-Ford boys tennis blanks Upper Perkiomen
Spring-Ford’s boys tennis team pitched a shutout in more ways than one Thursday afternoon, blanking Upper Perkiomen 7-0 in a Pioneer Athletic Conference boys tennis match.
The Rams didn’t allow a single point to the Indians, getting singles victories from Patrick Pascual, Ryan Schweitzer and T.J. Cruickshank and doubles victories from Nick Griswold and Matt Yerkes, Luke Emerson and Zack Collier, Kevin Yun and John Fazzini and Todd Unger and Cameron Trager.
Methacton 7, Boyertown 0: Justin Baman, Max Schneider and Tassos Sapalidis each notched singles victories for the Warriors in the PAC-10 win over the Bears.
Methacton also got doubles victories from Ryan Hamilton and Nick Simeone, Debanik and Subainh Purkayastha, Kelly Donahue and Kevin Wichert and A.J. Benn and Matt Zahang
Pope John Paul II 4, Owen J. Roberts 3: With a sweep of the doubles bracket, the Golden Panthers edged the Wildcats in both teams’ PAC-10 opener.
The best individual showing for PJP came at fourth doubles, where the team of Adam Donmoyer and Kristof Marrecau handled OJR’s Cameron Whitelock/Jake Spence tandem 6-2, 6-1. Roberts was headed by Ethan Gelting’s 6-0, 6-2 verdict over Connor McCarthy at second singles.
