Exeter downed by Hamburg in Berks semifinals

The Exeter High School wrestling team qualified for the Berks League playoffs held Jan. 25 at Wyomissing High School. The Eagles defeated Wyomissing in the quarterfinal round, 39-23, but lost in the semifinals to Hamburg, 41-22.

After finishing at 6-1 and placing second in the Berks League standings, Exeter defeated Wyomissing in the quarterfinals.

Earning pins for Exeter were: Tyler Bagoly (120), 1:17; Scott Schaeffer (182), 2:51; Brett Kulp (106), 2:34; and Austin Desanto (113), 1:04.

Winning by decisions for Exeter were: Tristan Watts (126), 16-2; John Greenleaf, 4-1; and Nolan Buck (220), 4-1.

Ethan Stever won by technical fall, 17-1.
