Boyertown improves to 3-2
The Boyertown Area High School boys’ basketball team improved to 3-2 in the PAC-10 and 5-6 overall after winning a pair of games last week.
On Jan. 4, the Bears traveled to Oley Valley to take on the Lynx in a non-league game. Boyertown outscored Oley in all four quarters and won the game, 65-44.
The Bears jumped out to a 17-11 lead after one quarter, then increased the advantage to 12 points by halftime, 37-25. The Bears put the game away in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Lynx, 15-8.
Ryan Corcoran led the way for Boyertown with 23 points in the contest, including five three-point buckets. Tyler Bauman scored 15 points while Kyle Dennin had nine and Colton Moyer added eight.
On Jan. 9, the Bears got back to PAC-10 action when they played host to Upper Perkiomen. A great start helped the Bears to a 69-49 victory.
Boyertown led 20-10 after one quarter, then opened up a 23 point halftime lead, 45-12. The Indians were unable to muster any serious comeback effort in the second half.
Corcoran led the way again for Boyertown with 31 points in the game. Dennin chipped in with 12 points and Ben Longacre added 11.
