Carr helps her cause at MBAP knocks off Carroll

Pitcher Talia Carr scattered four hits and drove in two runs as Bonner-Prendergast beat Archbishop Carroll, 6-5, to hand the Patriots their first Catholic League softball loss.

Carr fanned five and was 2-for-4 with a triple. Marina Tagliaferri and Kellie Martin both went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Lauren Martin was 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs for the Patriots.

In the Del Val League:

Interboro 14, Penn Wood 4 >> Vanessa Harrity and Mare Nagle both went deep and drove in three runs apiece to pace the Bucs. Jules Bergen allowed four hits and fanned six to get the win. Summer Burrell, Ava Rudolph, Ava Magee and Emma Nagle added one hit and one RBI each.

In the Central League

Ridley 15, Lower Merion 0 >> Karlie Checchini and Gemma Taggart combined on a one-hit shutout. Dakota Marshall was 3-for-4 with a double and home run to pace the offense. Paige McLaughlin went 2-for-2 with a double.

Penncrest 9, Lower Merion 5 >> Selena Psaris was 1-for-3 with four RBIs and Sarah Simpkins went 2-for-3 with two runs scored for the Lions Monday.

In the Inter-Ac League:

Episcopal Academy 6, Penn Charter 2 >> Pitcher Maddie Masiko belted a homer and tossed a 10-strikeout, five-hitter. Hanna-Mae Legaspi, Sofia Foulds and Rylie Spor drove in one run each.
