Billie Kerwood pitched her fourth shutout in five games as Interboro cruised to a 10-0 win over Chichester in six innings.
The senior Kerwood allowed only one hit — an infield single — and struck out 14 for the Bucs (6-0, 4-0 Del Val League).
Freshman Sara Smith put on a highlight-reel performance, going 3-for-3 with a three-run homer and five RBIs. She also made a spectacular running catcher in center field, robbing Chi’s best player Ava Franz of a potential home run.
Logan Stewart also went yard for Interboro. Maddie Bonner added three base knocks and three runs scored.
In the Central League:
Ridley 2, Springfield 1 >> Paige McLaughlin came through with the go-ahead RBI hit as the Green Raiders downed the Cougars in a pitchers’ duel.
Winning pitcher Madison Chapman punched out 13 and ripped a solo homer. Hailey McMenamin tripled, homered and scored both runs for Ridley.
Tough-luck losing pitcher Sam Ciasullo had a double for Springfield.
Garnet Valley 10, Radnor 1 >> Anna Sidlowski delivered from the circle and at the plate for the Jaguars.
The sophomore hurled a one-hitter with 16 strikeouts and went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs.
Morgan Mesaros homered and worked three walks for GV. Kayleigh Saboja tripled and drove in a run, while Emily Orsini finished 2-for-4 with a triple and three ribbies. Annie Bechtold went 2-for-3 with a two-bagger and two RBIs and Maddie Stiles had two doubles for the winning team.
Strath Haven 13, Upper Darby 7 >> Audrey Kochanowicz paced the Panthers with two doubles, a single, five RBIs and three runs scored. Gen Kozub recorded 10 strikeouts from the circle and helped herself with a home run. Jessica Yohey added three base knocks and four RBIs for Haven.
For the Royals, Jameson Rossillo collected four hits and Nora Zakrzewski went 3-for-3 with a double, triple, two RBIs and two runs scored.
In the Ches-Mont League:
Oxford 12, Sun Valley 1 >> Lacie Gilpin knocked in Brianna Lawson for the Vanguards’ run. Ally Sheppard and Abby Doyle had hits in the loss.
