Interboro’s Kerwood stays essentially unhittable in win over Chi

Interboro’s Billie Kerwood delivered another gem Monday.

The senior ace tossed a one-hitter with 12 strikeouts in an 11-1, five-inning victory over Chichester.

The only hit Kerwood allowed came off the bat of All-Delco and Villanova recruit Ava Franz. Kerwood fired a pair of no-hitters last week for the surging Bucs (3-0).

Julia DiSands homered and tripled to power the Interboro offense. Kyla Valver went 3-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and three runs scored. Logan Stewart added a single, double and two ribbies for the Bucs.

In the Central League:

Ridley 15, Radnor 0 >> Haley McMenamin blasted a two-run homer as the Green Raiders trounced Radnor in four innings. Jolie Torrens tossed a one-hit shutout with six strikeouts and helped her cause with two hits, including a double.

Dakota Marshall went a perfect 3-for-3 with a triple. Faith Zanetich also legged out a three-bagger, while Mollie Reece finished 2-for-4 with a double.

Haverford 7, Penncrest 0 >> Hannah Hermansen threw a one-hit shutout over five innings with seven punchouts. Ava Cohen, Haley Greenwald and Kerri McCallum all had two hits.

Springfield 15, Upper Darby 0 >> An eight-run first inning was more than enough cushion for senior pitcher Sam Ciasullo, who registered 13 punchouts in the five-inning shutout. At the plate, Ciasullo was 4-for-4 with three doubles, a triple, three RBIs and three runs scored.

Skyler Poehner finished 3-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored for Springfield. Ava Craddock chipped in with two doubles, two RBIs and a pair of runs. Lanie Morris (two RBIs) and Aly Davish each contributed two base knocks.

In the Catholic League:

Conwell-Egan 12, Cardinal O’Hara 0 >> Madison Gibson had the only hit for the Lions. Bella Palmer hit a grand slam for Conwell-Egan.

In the Ches-Mont League:

Unionville 6, Sun Valley 1 >> Brianna Lawson pitched well in the loss for the Vanguards. She allowed only two earned runs and struck out seven. At the dish, she had a pair of hits and knocked in the Vanguards’ lone run.
