Marshall, Chapman lead Ridley to extra-innings win

Dakota Marshall’s bases-loaded triple was the big blow as Ridley scored five times in the bottom of the eighth, then held on for a 6-4 win over Garnet Valley.

Mary DelFera pushed the game to extras with an RBI double in the bottom of the seventh, scoring Madison Chapman. DelFera scored Marshall with an RBI double, then scored on Mollie Reece’s RBI triple in the eighth.

That made a winner of Chapman, who went the distance with 17 strikeouts. GV’s Morgan Mesaros had a solo shot in the fifth; Annie Bechtold homered as the Jaguars posted three in the bottom of the eighth but couldn’t close the gap.

Haverford 10, Conestoga 1 >> Emma Taylor tossed a four-hitter, striking out 10 and walking none for the Fords. Ava Cohen backed her with two hits, including a triple, two runs scored and an RBI. Kerri McCallum singled, doubled and drove in two.

Oxford 11, Sun Valley 8 >> Lex Timlin drove in four runs and Brianna Lawson went 4-for-4, but it wasn’t enough to keep up with Oxford. Lacie Gilpin added three hits, and Hailey Lipka bashed a two-run homer.
