Casasanto’s performance leads Springfield to win

Jenna Casasanto tossed a gem, scattering three hits in a complete game as Springfield edged Marple Newtown, 5-2.

Jordan Galloway reached base all four times, with three walks, a run and an RBI. Caitlin Chambers drove in two runs as a four-spot in the top of the fourth blew the game open.

Radnor 5, Strath Haven 4 >> Senior Tess Massaro celebrated senior night by lacing an RBI single in the eighth inning to score Emma Gibbons and give the Raiders the walk-off win. Gibbons singled to lead off the inning and moved to third on a Roni Hoover base knock.

Audrey Rosenblum tripled among two hits. Lilah Demmy added two hits and a run scored, and Hoover collected two hits, a run and an RBI. Demmy got the win by pitching all eight innings.

Gen Kozub, who pitched a great game, joined Audrey Kochanowicz and Brooke Holzinger with two hits each, while Brooke Bender scored twice.

In the Ches-Mont League:

W.C. Rustin 14, Sun Valley 4 >> Brianna Lawson hit a two-run triple, and Hailey Lipka added two hits and two runs for Sun Valley, but the Golden Knights rapped out 22 hits, including 10 for extra bases.
