Mercury Softball Roundup: Boyertown edges Methacton in extra innings

Boyertown 2, Methacton 1 >> After Methacton tied the game in the top of the seventh, Julia Smith walked it off in the bottom of the inning to deliver the Bears a PAC Liberty win Tuesday.

Boyertown’s Alex Schaefer allowed one run on five hits in seven innings to pick up the win. Methacton’s Caroline Pellicano gave up two runs (one earned) on seven hits. She allowd a run in the first then tossed five consecutive shutout frames before Smith’s hit in the seventh.

Kylie Hertzler and Caitlin Keenan, who scored the game-winning run, had two hits for the Bears. Nichole Dorn and Abby Penjuke (double) had two hits each for the Warriors.

Owen J. Roberts 17, Pottstown 0, 4 INN. >> The Wildcats plated multiple runs in all four of their at-bats to pick up a PAC crossover win.

Morgan Twaddell (three runs, two RBI) had four hits, and Jordan Sylvia (double, home run) drove in five runs. Rachel Towler allowed two hits in four innings.

Upper Merion 13, Phoenixville 1, 5 INN. >> The Vikings’ seven-run third inning helped Upper Merion get out to an 11-0 lead and cruise to a PAC Frontier win.

Katelyn O’Brien and Samme Deskiewicz (double) both went 3-for-3 with two RBI. Olivia Barr struck out six batters and allowed just three hits to pick up the win. Aubrie Breisblatt had a double and drove in the Phantoms’ lone run.

West-Mont Christian 18, Mercy Vocational 2 >> Morgan Stimson tossed a no-hitter and struck out six batters in the Tri-County League win.

Arielle Collins went 3-for-3 with three RBI.
