Delco Softball Preview: O’Hara poised for deep run in Catholic League

Cardinal O’Hara seems to knock on the door of a Catholic League title every season under veteran coach Bob Milliken. Can this be the year the Lions bust through? The ingredients are there, with a strong core of returning seniors, including pitcher Mary Pat Brough, corner infielder Lexie Cervella and shortstop Izzy Miarchi. Junior Annemarie Banes, who flourished as a sophomore, moves to shortstop. Maura Kane is a speedster in center field and Emily Loomis has the ability to play multiple positions.

The Lions are coming off a 10-6 season that culminated with a loss in the Catholic League semifinals.

Devin Manion takes over at Bonner-Prendergast after spending the last few years as an assistant for Eleanor Johnson. Meanwhile, Archbishop Carroll starts its first season with new coach Michael Machalette. No preseason information on either team was made available to the Daily Times.
