Pottsgrove 7, Upper Merion 6 (9 innings)
Highlights: Pottsgrove won a back-and-forth game in extra innings Wednesday afternoon at Upper Merion in the PAC Frontier Division opener for both teams. Nick Freese earned the win with 3 ⅓ scoreless innings, Dylan Penot had three hits with two runs scored and a pair of RBI and Zach Tyson homered and knocked in two for the Falcons (2-1 overall). Bobby Hickey had three hits and John Tomsho and Sean Prendergast two each for the Vikings (2-1 overall).
Perkiomen School 5, Quakertown 1
Highlights: Cesar Lopez went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a pair of runs to send the Panthers past Quakertown. Quakertown’s lone run came in the top of the first inning before Perkiomen responded with two in the bottom half. Toren Choudri earned the win on the mound, having struck out four with two hits allowed over six innings of work for the Panthers.
Perkiomen Valley 9, Faith Christian Academy 2
Highlights: Derek Smith and Connor Fitzpatrick combined on a five-hitter for the Vikings Wednesday afternoon in a non-league win over the visiting Lions. Smith allowed only three hits and an unearned run in four innings to earn the win and Fitzpatrick followed with three-two hit frames while allowing the other run. Aidan Autovino scored two runs and knocked in three and Jackson Hovey had two hits for PV (3-0). Lincoln Hower and Reid Miller each had a pair of hits for Faith Christian (2-1).
BOYS LACROSSE
Pope John Paul II 7, Holy Ghost Prep 5
Highlights: The Golden Panthers (3-2) were led by a hat trick from Ian Young and a pair of goals from Cole Miller (one assist). Eric Zadroga (one assist) and Connor Gucwa (two assists) both found the back of the net and Dillon Murphy tallied one assist. Murphy won 13 of 15 faceoffs and Sean Fallon had 13 Saves in net for Pope John Paul II.

GIRLS LACROSSE
Upper Merion 16, Pope John Paul II 10
Upper Merion: Olivia Smith put away a game-high seven goals and Ashley Evitts (one assist) shelled out five for the Vikings. Julianna Callison (one assist) scored a hat trick and Sam Walmsley added one goal while tallying four assists. Audrey Schuebel, Riley Robinson and Brooke Olsen all had one assist each while Anaya Onwubuariri registered 18 saves in net for Upper Merion.
Jill Cobaugh led the Golden Panthers with five goals and Ava Zepp (one assist) had a hat trick. Elena Colliluori and Cate Mink found the back of the net as well. McKayla Elison and Alexia Swartz both had two saves apiece for Pope John Paul II.
Perkiomen School 17, New Foundations 3
Highlights: Caroline Mellon (eight draw controls) buried five goals and Kendall Gavin piled on four to pad the Panthers in a win over New Foundations. Shae Leach, Morgan Keely and Brigid Scanlon all scored twice each. Bria Moyer and Lauren Patnode both found the back of the net once while Bella Berringer came up with four saves in net for Perkiomen School.
SOFTBALL
Hill School 19, Academy of Notre Dame 6
Highlights: Belle Dicampello (3-for-5) drove in eight runs and plated three herself to fuel the Blues past the Academy of Notre Dame in five innings. Aryanna Bodge (3-for-3) had two RBIs and three runs while Hill collectively recorded 17 hits on the day. In the circle, Bodge struck out eight, walked four and allowed seven hits and six runs.
Exeter 2, Pottsgrove 0
Highlights: Morgan Herb scattered six hits and struck out 10 and she and Jaredis Flores (3-for-3) knocked in the runs in the first inning for the Eagles (3-3) in a non-league win Wednesday afternoon. Bailey Psyher, Lizzie McAllister and Avery Gleason each had two hits for the visiting Falcons (2-1) and Mikayla Eckman pitched four scoreless innings in relief.
Westtown 10, Perkiomen School 0 (six innings)
Highlights: Junior pitcher Claudia Knowles only allowed one earned run and recorded 10 strikeouts, but Westtown took Perkiomen School’s season opener in part by nine hits and six Panthers errors. Lucia Sanchez struck out 16 without letting up a hit across six innings of work for Westtown.
Palisades 2, Upper Perkiomen 0
Highlights: Karlye Teman threw a complete no-hitter with 16 strikeouts and five walks to shut out the Indians. Rhiley Poniktera (2-for-4) and Brooklynn Lucas both had runs for Palisades. Upper Perkiomen committed five errors and Palisades recorded seven hits.
Boyertown 6, Central Bucks East 2
Highlights: Ella Hurter earned the win for Boyertown in the circle with nine strikeouts on five hits and two runs allowed over six innings. The Bears put up four runs in the bottom of the first inning and never looked back. Aubrey Gilbert (2-for-4, RBI, run) and Kyra Neiswender (2-for-3, 2 runs, RBI) both had multi-hit outings for Boyertown, which outhit the Patriots 9-5.
