Spina’s first varsity goal a highlight of Pope John Paul II’s victory over Pottsgrove

Pope John Paul II 21, Pottsgrove 7 >> Darby Spina scored her first varsity goal while Monica Rapchinski figured in on nine of the Golden Panthers’ goals as they rolled over the Falcons in PAC Frontier Division action.

Rapchinski scored a game-high five while adding four assists. Kylie Cherneskie chipped in with four goals while Julia Latoff (two assists), Lauren Bello and Grace Cobaugh all turned in hat tricks.

For Pottsgrove, Brooke Saylor moved closer to the 100-goal mark for her scholastic career by netting a hat trick of her own. The Pottsgrove junior, with 68 goals for the season, is now six away from the century mark.

Upper Merion 11, Phoenixville 10 >> Molly Weygand scored a game-high five goals and Katie Frey came up with nine saves in the Vikings’ key PAC Frontier Division win over the Phantoms.

Francesca Lindelow notched a pair of goals while Quinn O’Malley (two assists), Riley O’Malley, Allison Shuster and Rella Staley each scored once. Kylie Crovetti scored a hat trick for Phoenixville while Katie Baker followed with two scores.
