Reporter/Times Herald Roundup (Feb. 10): Jenkintown boys hit 13 3’s in win over Phil-Mont Christian

Jenkintown 74, Phil-Mont Christian 63 >> Jake Hilton hit four of Jenkintown’s 13 3-pointers in finishing with a team-high 16 points as the Drakes had five players score in double figures to snap a two-game skid Wednesday.

Jadan Welch had 14 points, Iman Jackson scored 13 points, Cole Krinvic tallied 11 points while Emmet Tweh added 10 points as Jenkintown (6-2). Jackson and Krinvic each made three 3-pointers.

The Drakes led 34-24 at halftime and stretched their advantage to 51-35 at the end of the third. The teams then combined for 51 points in the fourth.

David Olinger had a game-high 25 points for Phil-Mont Christian (5-2), which had a three-game win streak stopped. Trevor Tipton connected on three 3-pointers in scoring 17 points for the Falcons while Nathan Blackburn posted 10 points.

Dock Mennonite 65, Bristol 40 >> Dock Mennonite’s Steve Martin scored 15 of his game-high 23 points in the first half and the Pioneers pulled away in the third quarter and rolled to its second straight win.

Deuce Dorsey posted eight of his 15 points in the second quarter for Dock (6-3), who built a 40-29 halftime lead then outscored Bristol 16-4 in the third to go up 56-33.

Anthony Silver led the Warriors (1-5) with 16 points while AJ Brown added 12 points.

Girls Basketball

Archbishop Wood 62, Bonner & Prendergast 29 >> Kaitlyn Orihel was one of three Archbishop Wood players to score in double figures, the Villanova commit collecting 14 points as the Vikings rolled to a PCL Red Division win.

Ryanne Allen added 13 points while Allie Fleming finished with 10 points for Wood (4-0, 4-0).

St. Basil 52, Villa Maria 35 >> Denae Carter paced St. Basil with 17 points, Tori Nigro scored 15 points and the Panthers (7-1, 7-1 AACA) earned their seventh consecutive win.

Boys Bowling

Quakertown 4, North Penn 0 >> North Penn’s Lucas Francis had a match-best 702 series with games of 200, 266 and 236 but Quakertown earned a sweep of the Knights Wednesday to claim the SOL American Conference title.

The Panthers’ Steven Romeo had a 610 series with games of 177, 175 and 258 while Michael Romeo added a 582 series, posting games of 164, 197 and 221.

North Penn got a 569 series from Naman Parikh who bowled games of 144, 215 and 210.

Girls Bowling

North Penn 4, Quakertown 0 >> Lornda Loughery and Seoyoen Lee led North Penn to a sweep of Quakertown. Loughery had games of 124, 116 and 137 for a match-best 377 series while Lee recorded a 365 series after games of 97, 114 and 124.

Madison Kunkel paced Quakertown with a 349 series with games of 108, 113 and 138.
