Possenti’s all-around game leads GV to win

Ava Possenti did a little bit of everything for Garnet Valley Thursday.

The senior guard had a game-high 17 points, five steals and four assists in the Jaguars’ 52-35 win over Ridley.

Freshman Haylie Adamski chipped in 16 points, five rebounds and two steals for the Jags, who led 29-14 at halftime. Emily Olsen contributed six points and six rebounds.

Emily Liberio led the Green Raiders with eight points.

In other Central League action:

Radnor 47, Penncrest 45 >> The Raptors stormed back from a 10-point deficit to beat the Lions.

Mary Sareen led a balanced attack with 11 points. Ellie Davis managed 10 points, eight rebounds and four blocks. Maddie Bader had nine points on a trio of 3-point baskets.

Bailey Garrison and Kyla Curci each scored 12 points for Penncrest.

Marple Newtown 59, Strath Haven 45 >> Make it 10 straight wins for the Tigers.

Four MN starters scored in double digits. Nikki Mostardi led the way with 14 points followed by Haley Levy and Brooke Impriano, who netted 12 apiece. Mary O’Brien pitched in 10 points and Ellie DiBona had nine.

Freshman Maryella Gill paced the Panthers with nine points.

Haverford 53, Conestoga 36 >> Caroline Dotsey produced a game-high 23 points, propelling the Fords past the Pioneers. Sky Newman and Maddie Newman tossed in six points apiece.

Katrina Valencia (13 points) and Marisa Francione (10) scored in double figures for ‘Stoga.

Harriton 28, Springfield 23 >> Annie Aspesi scored 11 points for the Rams.

Kaitlyn Kearney dropped in 11 points for the Cougars. Anabel Kreydt (six rebounds) and Mia Valerio (three assists) added six points apiece.

In the Catholic League:

Cardinal O’Hara 48, Bonner-Prendergast 18 >> Maggie Doogan helped keep the Lions perfect in the Catholic League with a game-high 17 points. Sydni Scott netted 11 points and Annie Welde had six.

Bridie McCann scored every one of Bonner-Prendie’s points. The senior guard drilled four 3-point baskets.
