Football: Ellis scores five TDs in Upper Darby’s rout of Upper Moreland

Montez Ellis put on a show Friday night.

The junior quarterback scored all five of his team’s touchdowns as Upper Darby cruised to a 37-6 victory at Upper Moreland.

Ellis converted from running back in the middle of the season and the move has paid dividends. While the Royals will fall short of the District 1 Class 6A playoffs, they have a 4-1 record with Ellis as the quarterback.

Upper Darby is one of four District 1 Class 6A teams to end the regular season at the .500 mark. Haverford was the only team to make the playoffs with a 5-5 record. The Royals will meet the Fords on Thanksgiving morning.
