Box helps Marple Newtown to fourth straight win

Charlie Box accounted for two of Marple Newtown’s three touchdowns in Saturday’s 24-14 victory at Lower Merion.

The Tigers (5-2, 4-2) won their fourth consecutive game.

Box had a scoring run late in the third quarter to give his team a 17-7 advantage. The senior running back then caught a pass from quarterback David Bertoline in the fourth quarter to give Marple a 10-point lead.

After the Aces held a 7-3 lead early in the game, Bertoline threw a scoring strike to Jonny Small in the second quarter to put Marple Newtown ahead 10-7.

Ty Can made two field goals in the winning effort.

Marple will look for its fifth straight win next week against Springfield.
