Ridley got a test in its season-opener Friday night. Thanks to Owen Bosak, the Green Raiders passed that test.
Bosak’s one-yard touchdown with 3:18 to play gave the Green Raiders a 34-29 nonleague win over Central Bucks East Friday night.
The Green Raiders led 28-14 and held a seven-point lead with 7:16 left, but CB East rallied to go ahead, 29-28, with the aid of a recovered onside kick. Ridley, though, rallied late to get the victory.
Paul Jackson got Ridley on the board with a first-quarter touchdown run, and Tahir Mills added to it before the end of the opening quarter. Mills scored on a 90-yard touchdown to put Ridley up 21-14 at half, then added an 81-yard score with 10:53 to play to make it 28-14. That appeared to be that.
But Ethan Shine scored on a six-yard run with 7:01 to play, and the two-point conversation made it 29-28 CB East. Bosak, though, capped a long drive to put Ridley ahead, and Jackson came up with a late tackle for loss to seal the victory.
