Sessa, Szukic trigger fast start for EA

Ashley Sessa scored the first two goals of the game, and Macy Szukics added a pair of goals as Episcopal Academy blitzed Springside Chestnut Hill Academy with seven first-half goals in a 7-0 field hockey victory Tuesday.

Kelly Smith, Louisa Baxter and Jocelyn Andrews also scored for the Churchwomen (14-1-1, 6-0-1 Inter-Ac).

Also in the Inter-Ac:

Notre Dame 7, Penn Charter 1 >> Vivi Trumpbour recorded a natural hat trick across the halftime break, and Meghan Mitchell scored twice off feeds from Mia Leonhardt to pace the Irish. Leonhardt also scored, and Hanna Bodner was the only non-senior to score on senior day for Notre Dame (14-3-1, 6-0-1).

Agnes Irwin 2, Germantown Academy 0 >> Hadley Evans broke the ice on a second-half breakaway, and Maggie Kondrath sealed the win in the final minutes off a corner as the Owns (4-9-2, 3-4) got the win. Jordan Healy made two saves in goal for AIS.

In nonleague action:

Bonner-Prendergast 2, Sacred Heart 1 >> Hailey Horan and Reagan Dolan scored as the Pandas tuned up for the Catholic League playoffs.

Bonner-Prendergast hosts Little Flower in the PCL quarterfinals Wednesday at 3:45

Horan converted a pass from Della George and Dolan scored to give MBAP a 2-0 halftime lead. Zoe Bounds scored in the second half for the Lions.
